Mental health tech at Miami Beach hospital inappropriately touched a patient, cops say

A conviction of a sexually related offense does not necessarily mean you have to register as a sex offender and Matt Ladd can prove it – while avoiding the limelight even when the case was initially on every channel.

Last November, a mental health technician from Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach was accused of sexual battery by a patient. These are serious charges that carry a heavy penalty and – with the evidence presented – things looked bleak for the defendant- prison time and a requirement that he register as a sexual offender.

After a very public arrest that played out on local news and with DNA linking the defendant to the crime, Matt Ladd managed to get the maximum sentence of 20 years of prison to less than one year in jail and 5 years of probation. Due to clever tactics, the news also lost interest in the case. The defendant did not even have to register as on the National Sex Offender Registry.

Matt basically helped the whole thing disappear from the news cycle.

Minimal Punishment and Minimal Public Exposure

Sexual battery defense is a serious undertaking that – if not handled correctly – can lead to years in prison. Everyone has the right to an attorney. Matt’s experience with criminal defense proves that. An exemplary record on cases throughout the spectrum – from DUI defense in Miami to federal crime representation involving nearly a ton of drugs, Matt has the experience needed to stand up for anyone’s constitutional entitlement to a fair trial.

In a court of law, you are innocent until proven guilty.  The same can not be said about the court of public opinion and handling cases with media interest takes someone experienced like Matt Ladd.

Thankfully, Matt has experience dealing with both.
